TV Africa Network Channel Launch

RCN Corporation a leading provider of all-digital and high definition video, high-speed internet, and premium voice services to residential and small-medium business customers, as well as high-capacity transport services to carrier and large enterprise customers announced today that it now offers the 24/7 multi-cultural, English language family channel, Ebru TV, as part of its basic cable lineup on channel 53.

“The name Ebru comes from an art form, known also as water marbling, that is as unique as our audience. In Ebru, the colors and patterns stay together yet remain distinct. It is an apt metaphor for a network that strives to promote intercultural dialogue and mutual respect,” said Ebru TV’s VP, Production Nasuhi Yurt. “The mission of Ebru Television is to continually educate, inspire and entertain viewers of all ages through original first-rate programming in the sciences, sporting events, fine arts and every aspect of culture. So we are very pleased that RCN has added us to their line up and given us such an opportunity.”

“While it is targeted to Americans with Eastern European, Central Asian, North African and Near Eastern Backgrounds, Ebru TV offers rich and high quality family-friendly programming that all family members can enjoy,” said Richard Ramlall, SVP, Strategic External Affairs and Programming at RCN. “Since we are committed to offering the best and most diverse content to our customers, we are very pleased to add Ebru TV to our basic lineup.

Ebru TV’s programming offers a wide range of programming: from its new dramatic series, “Cold February,” which combines action, adventure, and intrigue, to “Tarchin and Friends,” where creative imagination and enthusiastic learning collide in a colorfully animated and energetic live-action program for children.
